Japanese policy entrepreneur, current Director for Digital Economy at METI as well as Counselor at Digital Agency, and former Founding Head of the World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Japan.Joined the Japanese government in 2003 where she developed policy expertise in a range of fields related to technology and regulation, including market-regulation reforms in finance, education and healthcare. Initiated the G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance on Technology Governance, which received the World Smart City Awards in 2021.Holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo. Member of the board of the Japanese Fencing Federation.
