In 2000, transferred from Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) to NTT Docomo, where he engaged in technology development and new business launches related to mobile multimedia data mining, voice recognition, and mobile networks.
After serving as president of DOCOMO Innovations, Inc. and DOCOMO Capital, Inc. in the United States.
Until July 2016, he also served as president of NTT Docomo Ventures, the investment arm of NTT Group.
June 2017: Resigned as executive officer of NTT Docomo.
July 2017: Appointed as professor at Osaka University's Institute for Open and Transdisciplinary Research Initiatives.
