After graduating from Keio University in 1988, he joined Mizuho Bank, Ltd., and held numerous key positions both domestically and abroad, while significantly contributing to the bank's strategic growth. Following his role as the Head of Chubu Region for two years, he was promoted to Deputy President in 2021. A year later, In 2022, he was appointed as President & CEO of Mizuho Bank. He has taken on the role of Chairperson of the Japanese Bankers Association, from April 2023.
