Masaki joined the Bank of Japan in 1994. His career at the Bank includes: legal services/studies, research at foreign offices (London, Frankfurt), representation at subcommittees of the Basel Committee, and reserve management. Currently, as Head of FinTech Center, Payment and Settlement Systems Department, he leads the Bank’s projects on innovations in payments and settlements and engages with business leaders, tech experts and academics, representing the Bank at various forums in and abroad. He received an LL.M. from the University of Virginia (1999) and an LL.B. from Kyoto University (1994). He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
