Julian Teicke is the CEO and founder of wefox, which is a full-stack digital insurance company driven by a single purpose: to make people safe by reinventing insurance at scale through technology.
Since launching wefox in 2015, the company has doubled its revenues every year to reach US$230 million in 2021 and with 1500 employees serving more than two million customers, wefox is Europe’s leading digital insurance company. Wefox is on track to double its revenues again and become the first digital insurance company to reach $1bn in revenues.
In 2021, wefox successfully closed a record US$650 million series C investment round giving the six-year old digital insurance company a post-money valuation of US$3 billion.
In 2019, wefox successfully closed a record US$235 million for its series B round making wefox one of the fastest growing insurtechs in the world and prompting the Financial Times’ technology magazine, Sifted, to rank wefox in the global top 10 fastest start-ups to become a unicorn.
Prior to wefox, Julian founded ‘DeinDeal’, the largest e-commerce platform in Switzerland, which established a dominant market position and was successfully sold to an international media company. He is also a founding member of EMPAUA and successfully mentors a series of startups.
