Appointed in July 2020. He served for many key positions including Director-General of Research and Statistics Department, General Manager for the Americas, Head of Policy Planning Division, Monetary Affairs Department, and Head of Markets Group, Financial Markets Department since he joined BOJ in 1990. He graduated with BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo, 1990, and with MSc in Economics for Development, The University of Oxford, 1997. He was also a Professional Fellow/Visiting Fellow, Columbia University in the City of New York, between June 2013 and June 2014.
