Toshiharu MASHITA is the first Assistant Commissioner for Fintech Policy, leading policy-making from business promotion to monitoring relevant service providers, including crypto asset exchange and fund transfer.
MASHITA entered the Ministry of Finance in 1993. In 2010, he took a position as the Head of the Public Relations Office at the Financial Services Agency. MASHITA headed various initiatives, including monitoring securities firms, administration of CPA examination, and strategy development to revitalize the regional economy and finance. He also served as the first senior director in PCAAOB Secretariat. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Keio University.
