President of Tokyo University of Agriculture since April 2021 / Professor, Faculty of Regional Environment Science. Born in 1965 in Gunma Prefecture, completed the Department of Forest Science doctoral program, Graduate School of Agriculture, Tokyo University of Agriculture, received his Ph.D. in Forest Science. He has served as the Chairman of the Japanese Society of Mushroom Science and Biotechnology, a Japan Pavilion Supporter at Expo Milano 2015, and a program officer for the Research Center for Science Systems, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
He is also active in the media as ""Dr. Mushroom"".
