Ryuichiro Hashimoto is an economist at the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, Bank of Japan. He joined the BOJ in 2015 and has conducted a number of ecnomic and financial research throughout his career. Main research topics include (1) risk assessment of Japanese banks' loan portfolio using machine learning approach, and (2) the impact of climate change on Japan's economic activity and financial system. He received an MPA/ID from Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government (2021), and an BEc from Keio University (2015).
