Mr. Yoshio Horimoto serves as the Vice Commissioner for Evidence-based Policymaking at the Financial Services Agency (JFSA) since June 2022. He is responsible for sustainable finance and strengthening the functions of the international financial center in Japan. He (has a diverse range of experience in various fields of finance, having)started his career at the Ministry of Finance and later served as a Special Advisor for the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
At FSA, Mr. Horimoto held several senior positions, including Deputy Director-General of the Strategy Development and Management Bureau, where he oversaw financial institution inspections, and Deputy Director-General of the Supervision Bureau, where he supervised large financial institutions.
In addition to his government positions, Mr. Horimoto has also worked as a senior management consultant for a private consulting firm for five years. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Tokyo.
