Kakuho Furukawa joined the Bank of Japan in 2014. After working in the Financial System and Bank Examination Department and Financial Markets Department, he is now working as an economist in the Research and Statistics Department since 2021. He has worked on a number of research projects, including analysis of climate change and its impact on the financial system, and economic analysis using alternative data. He holds a Master's degree in economics from Columbia University in the United States.
