Masami Inoue is a Director in the Payment and Settlement Systems Department of the Bank of Japan. She is responsible for research on retail payments including digital payment methods. Before assuming her current position, she experienced various positions in the BOJ in the areas of financial stability (supervision of major Japanese banks) and international relations. She was also a representative of the BOJ’s representative office in Frankfurt.
