Mai co-authored the Department of Finance paper on Virtual Currencies and Blockchain Technoloy, published in March 2018. She has led the department's Working Group on blockchain since its creation and has represented the department at EU and global blockchain related engagements. She is a member of BlockchainIreland, a member of the OECD’s Ad-hoc Expert Group in Digital Finance, and a founding member of BlockW. Mai is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland. Prior to joining the department, Mai worked in financial services in the private sector for over 20 years, mostly in banking and insurance, in several management and executive roles.
