Deputy Head, Payments Policy Department, Reserve Bank of Australia
Chris has been a Deputy Head of the Payments Policy Department at the Reserve Bank of Australia since 2016, where he contributes to the RBA’s policy work in relation to promoting a safe, competitive and efficient payments system. He has also been involved in the RBA’s work on central bank digital currency, including research conducted in the RBA’s Innovation Lab. He has previously had a number of other roles in the RBA, including as Chief Representative in the RBA’s New York Representative Office, and in the Financial Stability, Domestic Markets and Economic Analysis Departments. He was an Advisor to one of the Executive Directors of the IMF from 2008 to 2010 and did his graduate study at the London School of Economics.
